POST: Community Development Project Co-ordinator
WHERE: Sherkin Island Development Society
EMPLOYER: Sherkin Island Development Society Ltd.
CONTRACT: Full-time (**Apply on the website** hour week) - with
evening and weekend work when necessary.

SALARY: Dependent on qualifications & experience
PLEASE NOTE: The main office is based on Sherkin Island.
Sherkin Island Development Society Ltd is a Co-operative limited by
guarantee based on Sherkin Island, working in the area of community
development. The Community Development Office is currently funded from
the Department of Rural and Community Development via Comhar na
nOile?n Teo.
FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:
* A relevant third-level qualification in community development,
social science or related discipline while not essential, is desirable
* An ability to work on own initiative
* At least 3 years? experience of paid community development work
or 5 years? voluntary experience in this area
* An understanding of island life
* The ability to network effectively and work at an inter-agency
level with voluntary, community and statutory agencies
* Proven ability of planning and delivering projects, programmes,
activities and services at community level
* Experience of managing finances and budgets
* Strong marketing skills including social media
* An understanding of how a company works
* Experience in making funding applications
* Excellent computer, organisational & planning skills
* Excellent communication skills particularly around report writing
* Own transport and full clean driver?s licence
* The flexibility to travel to regular meetings on the mainland
